Breast Augmentation (Augmentation Mammaplasty)
Breast augmentation employs saline or silicone implants to give women firmer, fuller, well-proportioned breasts. It is one of the most sought-after cosmetic surgery performances both at our office and in the US.
Customizable Breast Enhancements
At Le MedSpa, we understand that every woman has unique needs, and we tailor our breast enhancements to suit these individual needs. Dr. Buinewicz is dedicated to taking the time to customize each procedure during pre-operative consultations.
Saline & Silicone Gel Breast Implants
Our breast implants are silicone shells filled with either salt water (saline) or silicone gel. While both are safe and approved by the FDA, silicone gel implants offer a more natural-feeling result.
Breast Augmentation Surgery - Incision Techniques
The entire surgical procedure lasts between one and two hours. General Anesthesia is typically administered. The incisions may be located in one of several inconspicuous places: in the armpit, in the crease beneath the breast, or around the areola. A technique called transumbilical breast augmentation (TUBA) allows saline implants to be inserted endoscopically through an incision in the navel.
During surgery, the implants are either placed beneath the breast tissue or the muscle of the chest wall.
Recovery
Recovery varies depending on the patient and the specifics of the procedure, but generally most patients feel tired and sore for a day or two following the surgery. Many patients feel able to return to work the same week.
Complications
Complications are uncommon and may include: capsular contracture, swelling and pain, infection around the implant, a change in nipple sensation, milk production if you have recently nursed a baby, and breakage or leakage of the implant as a result of injury or compression. Rupture or leakage of silicone implants are not a serious health risk. The implant will deflate within a few hours and your body will absorb the salt water. In the event of a silicone implant rupture or leak, you must be examined by Dr. Buinewicz immediately.

Breast Lift (Mastopexy)
During the aging process, the skin’s natural elasticity decreases, and gravity begins to alter the shape and appearance of women’s breasts. When combined with pregnancy or nursing, these factors often diminish breasts’ youthful shape and firmness. A breast lift (mastopexy) can surgically raise and reshape breasts, and reduce the size of the areola (the darker skin surrounding the nipple) to restore a youthful appearance. When breast implants are used in conjunction with a breast lift, the procedure can increase both breast firmness and size.

Breast Reconstruction
Breast reconstruction following a mastectomy due to cancer is often covered by HMOs. Using state-of-the-art medical techniques, our plastic surgeons can create a breast that very closely resembles an individual’s natural breasts. Visit our office for a consultation and information about the myriad of available options for post-mastectomy breast reconstruction.

Breast Reduction (Mammaplasty)
The excessive weight of breast tissue in large breasts can lead to health problems. Problems with posture, skeletal deformities, back and neck pain, skin irritations, and breathing problems can commonly result from large breasts. A breast reduction (reduction mammaplasty) removes glandular tissue, excessive skin, and fat to produce smaller, firmer, more manageable breasts.
