Browlift (Forehead Lift)

As we age, our facial expressions foster the development of creases, or frown lines, above the nose and in the middle of the forehead. These lines give the impression of serious, unhappy expressions, and make us look older than we would like. A brow lift is one of the only procedures through which a plastic surgeon can reach the elusive muscles that cause furrow lines. It can eliminate these creases, restoring a younger appearance.

Eyelid Lift (Blepharoplasty)

Blepharoplasty, or an eyelid lift, rejuvenate puffy, tired, or sagging eyes by removing excess fat, skin, and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. Typically a cosmetic procedure, Blepharoplasty has been known to improve vision by lifting droopy eyelids out of the patient's field of vision. While it cannot be used to raise the eyebrows or reduce the appearance of wrinkles, crow's feet, or dark circles under the eyes, the procedure can be combined with others such as a face lift or Botox® treatments to achieve the desired outcome.

The procedure lasts between 45 minutes to a few hours, depending on the extent of the work. It is usually performed in an office with a local anesthesia. To perform the procedure, incisions are made in inconspicuous places along the upper and lower eyelids. The surgeon removes excess tissue through these incisions before closing them with fine sutures. In the event that skin removal is unnecessary, the surgeon may perform a transconjunctival blepharoplasty in which the incision is made inside the lower eyelid and there are no visible scars.

After three or four days, the stitches are ready to be removed. Patients usually are able to return to work after 10 days of recovery. While contact lenses may be worn as soon as two weeks after the procedure, eyes may be sensitive to light and wind. Complications are uncommon, and can include: infection, reaction to anesthesia, double or blurred vision lasting a few days, temporary swelling of the eyelids, tiny whiteheads, and difficulty closing eyes. Rarely, patients experience uneven healing, scarring, or ectropion (pulling down of lower eyelids) that require surgical correction. Patients with thyroid problems, dry eye, high blood pressure, diabetes, detached retina, glaucoma or other health problems should consult with an ophthalmologist before undergoing the procedure.

Facelift (Rhytidectomy)

During a facelift, signs of aging are remediated by elevating the cheeks, flattening folds, tightening jowls, reshaping the neck, and removing excess skin. Le MedSpa offers several variations of face lifts, ranging from skin-only to deep plane. Skin-only face lifts came to popularity several years ago and are still used if the situation warrants. Intermediate depth face lifts achieve the lifted look at a deeper level. Deep plane face lifts work on the level just above the bone., defining facial traits, tightening muscle and connective tissue, and removing excess skin.

Otoplasty (Ear Pinning)

Ear Pinbacks, or otoplasty, are performed to modify protruding ears, and are one of the only cosmetic surgeries performed on children. During the surgery, the surgeon makes an incision in the natural crease behind the ear. The cartilage is weakened and reshaped. It is also stitched into position to hold the ear in position. Recovery takes one to two weeks.

Rhinoplasty (Nose Reshaping)

Rhinoplasty offers the chance to reshape the nose: shortening, straightening, building it up and tilting it up. It is one of the oldest operations in plastic surgery. It can be combined with functional improvement in the nasal airway, and is tailored toward the patient's individual needs and concerns. Rhinoplasties are performed through a small internal incision or a small external incision through the columella (at the base of the nose).
